Prayer enriches our lives and helps us find divinity.
Our Highest Human Expression ~ Prayer
Gandhi said, "Prayer is the most potent instrument of action." Whenever I don't know what I can do, I remember that I can always offer up a prayer and the heavens will align with me and respond. The wisdom of the East has taught us that we have three main types of prayers. The first is the asking prayer. "Help me." This is a very powerful prayer and so often we forget to ask. The second is the prayer of gratitude. "Thank you." Gratitude always brings more blessings. And the third, my favorite, is the prayer of silent union with the Divine. In this type of prayer we find ourselves completely absorbed in whatever we are doing. We loose all sense of self as we are joyfully participating in life. This is when we become one with everything and embrace our own Divinity. Join us this week on Step Into Magic as we begin an exploration into the power and potency of prayer.
Prayers of Gratitude
A branch of Hawaiian spirituality holds an invitation to "See everything as beautiful." When we attain the state of gratitude, we do see everything as beautiful. Gratitude is like a magical balm that increases the blessings in our lives. Rumi said, "There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the earth." Join us this week, as we explore prayers of gratitude and open ourselves further to the great spiritual blessing of prayer in our lives. "Thank you!"
Union with the Divine
Our third show on prayer explores how we can use our prayers to deepen our connection to the Divine. Instead of seeing God as something separate and inaccessible to us, we can find God within.
The contemporary guru, Swami Chetanananda, once wrote, "The purpose of any spiritual practice is to have a direct experience of God." This week we will explore the silent prayer of uniting with the Divine. Join us on Step Into Magic as we go even deeper into the topic of prayer.
